Unconventional – A practical guide to women’s ministry in the local church

Unconventional is a detailed account of the women’s ministry across the 20schemes church planting network in Scotland. Sharon Dickens describes how she set up women’s ministry in her local church, basing it on a discipleship model from Titus 2. This is an honest book; reflective and anecdotal, as well as being rooted in scriptural principles. I appreciated the chapters on the difficulties in finding older women to mentor the younger women, problems when men won’t step up and the loneliness of leadership. It has been so encouraging to read a book on women’s ministry from a UK perspective. This is not just a book for women, it is for anyone interested in this ministry.
