Book review — Time Well Spent

A practical guide to developing your daily devotions

This book is much needed. Not a few Christians I know, younger in years, have suggested that reading the Bible every day is ‘legalistic’. The author puts us right on this, showing us how to establish good habits of setting aside a daily time with God, showing us from Scripture how to do it, and answering common questions about it. I loved the section on using the psalms in prayer and the guidance questions to be used in reading a Bible passage. My only negative thought is that the author does use the words ‘Quiet times’ which makes all this good advice sound as if it has come from a bygone era.
