The Runaway Sheep

The Runaway Sheep is a well presented hardback book with pencil drawn illustrations mostly in black and white. It is described as a charming tale which uses many different Bible stories to show young and old how much the good shepherd loves us. I would suggest it is a book to be read with a child of primary school age. In the book the animals learn the lessons and the story will stimulate conversations about the Bible stories referred to. The author’s intention is taken from Job 12:7-9: ‘But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the sky, and they will tell you.’ I found the book a bit quirky but enjoyed the possibilities it opens up for chatting with a child about Bible teaching.
