The Preacher’s Catechism

Based on The Westminster Shorter Catechism, this book is a series of 43 questions that search the heart of the preacher. Each question is adapted to the preacher. For example, ‘Question: What is God’s chief end in preaching? Answer: God’s chief end in preaching is to glorify his name.’ Each answer is then explored and applied. Written on the assumption that preachers can be discouraged and tempted, Lewis Allen has written a challenging, yet encouraging, catechism for preachers to work through. Allen writes honestly, clearly and with great passion. At every point, he gets the reader to search their heart and lift their eyes to their Saviour. Published by Crossway in a lovely hardback edition, this is well worth buying for your pastor.
