This book contains eight true stories of people who experienced the Lord’s help in times of trouble in their lives. It is not bedtime reading, as the events that were experienced are heart-breaking. The book shows God at work when people’s lives are breaking apart. The Americanisms and spelling can detract slightly, but we Brits should be used to this by now! This book is for a person who is a seasoned reader. However, each chapter stands alone, and in a pastoral setting perhaps a chapter could be read aloud as part of an extended pastoral visit. One of the chapters closes with these words: ‘I have never thought that I am an especially brave person, but God has shown me that he can use every challenge and every trial to bring blessing if we trust him with it.’
