Book review — Reclaiming Masculinity - Seven biblical principles for being the man God wants you to be

What does it mean to be a man? For another generation this question would either not need to be asked, or if asked, easily answered. Yet this simple question currently brings confusion as we navigate the chaos of gender opinions in society. This little book from Matt Fuller will certainly help bring some clarity to the confusion and calm in the chaos as it redirects our compass to God’s good Word.

The question of defining manhood is still not easy, especially without generalisation or stereotype. You can’t write on this subject without indulging in a bit of both, but Matt Fuller is a fair guide as he brings out biblical principles to apply rather than tired and lazy caricatures to constrain.

I was particularly helped by the chapter on friendship, which continues to be an undervalued and under-enjoyed part of being human. In the age when toxic masculinity has been uncovered this book will help us recover God’s good design of gender and manhood.
