Book review — For Richer, For Poorer

This is another church history gem from the pen of Clare Heath-Whyte. She takes the lives of six Christian women from the 19th century, Elizabeth Fry, Barbara Wilberforce, Mary Muller, Minny Shaftesbury, Susannah Spurgeon and Emma Moody and sketches out lessons to be learned and challenges for us in the 21st century.  There are questions for Bible study and reflection at the end of every chapter which makes the very different lives of these women relevant to our era. Most chapters are only 28 pages long and the book can be read or studied in short bite size pieces. Prepare to be interested, intrigued and challenged. These women of God, though living lives restricted by costume and culture, each lived fearlessly for the Lord. We have much to emulate.
